Congress Centre

The congress will be held on the San Servolo Island a peaceful and fascinating location just in front of San Marco, the famous main square of Venice. Limited accommodation is also available on the island and can be booked through the Organizing Secretariat (see Hotel Accommodation page).

Transportation to the Congress Centre

Venice's vaporetti (singular - vaporetto), or water buses, are the public transportation of Venice. Vaporetti take visitors along the main canals, to the islands, and around the lagoon. For information and fares click here.

From Venice city centre

San Servolo island is easily reached by the "vaporetto" water buses using line 20 from San Zaccaria - monument stop  (every 20-40 minutes, trip takes 10 minutes). Water taxis are also available.

Arrival in Venice by plane

The city centre is easily reached from Marco Polo airport using public transport either on land or water.

Alilaguna is the boat service which connects the airport with Venice (San Marco, main square). From the San Marco square it is a short walk to the "vaporetto" water bus stop "San Zaccaria" where line 20 serves the San Servolo island. www.alilaguna.it

ATVO is the non-stop bus service which runs daily from 9am to midnight between the airport (from outside the arrivals area) and Venice (Piazzale Roma) taking about 20 minutes. Buses leave every half hour. www.atvo.it

ACTV - line 5 bus 5
This public bus service connects the airport with Venice (Piazzale Roma) in about 25 minutes. www.actv.it

Private taxis are also available, it takes 15 minutes to get to Venice (Piazzale Roma) (radiotaxi Mestre tel. +39-041-936222, +39-041-936222). Once you reach Piazzale Roma you can easily start your tour of Venice on foot or by waterbus.

Arrival in Venice by car

Should you arrive by car there is ample parking at Piazzale Roma, Garage Comunale or Garage San Marco or at Tronchetto Park; from Tronchetto a vaporetto water bus service is available to San Marco.

From Piazzale Roma to San Servolo
Public water bus no.1, no.51, no. 41, or no. 61 in direction "Lido", getting off at San Zaccaria. From here make your way to the S.Zaccaria – Monument stop to take line 20 for San Servolo (it takes 10 minutes).

Arrival in Venice by train

Get off at the train station “Venezia S.Lucia”. You will find the waterbus stops just at the exit.
Take public water bus no.1, no.51 and no.82, direction “Lido”, get off at San Zaccaria (trip takes 30-40 minutes). From here make your way to the S.Zaccaria – Monument stop to take line 20 for San Servolo (every 20-40 minutes, trip takes 10 minutes).

BADGES

Each participant will receive a name badge upon check-in at the registration desk. The badge will be the official congress pass and should be worn at all time in order to gain entry into the meeting rooms.

CATERING FACILITIES

Coffee tickets and light lunches are included in the registration fee. A bar and a cafeteria are also available on the San Servolo island for private consumption.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

Registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

CREDIT CARDS

Major credit cards are accepted by hotels, shops and restaurants.

CURRENCY

The official currency in Italy is the Euro €.

INDUSTRY INFORMATION

Companies and publishers are invited to display their products at the exhibition which will be organised in connection with the meeting. For more information please contact the Organising Secretariat OIC srl (info@cors2013.org).

INSURANCE

The Congress Organisers do not assume any liability for personal injuries sustained or loss of, or damage to, property belonging to congress participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as result of the congress. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.

LANGUAGE

The official language is English.

LETTERS OF INVITATION AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

Participants are invited to check with their local travel agency regarding any visa requirements to enter Italy. Application for letters of invitation will be accepted by the Organising Secretariat OIC srl before 15 July, 2013. These documents cannot grant any financial support by the organisers.

SMOKING POLICY

Smoking is not allowed within the Congress Centre.

WEATHER

The weather in Venice in mid October is generally mild but showers can occur. The average temperature is around 15 °C.
